Shrimp exports gradually recovered after 2 consecutive months of decline
The Covid-19 epidemic in the southern provinces is gradually being controlled, Vietnam's shrimp exports will gradually recover from October 2021. The shrimp industry is supported by the increasing market price of shrimp.

According to the Import and Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), Vietnam's shrimp exports in September 2021 reached 30,000 tons, worth 285 million USD, down 28.57% in volume and 25.2% in value compared to the previous year. September 2020. In the first nine months of 2020, shrimp exports were estimated at 296.8 thousand tons, worth 2.72 billion USD, up 1.15% in volume and 2.42% in value over the same period in 2020.

Thus, Vietnam's shrimp exports fell for the second consecutive month due to the impact of the domestic Covid-19 epidemic.

Previously, statistics from the General Department of Customs (Ministry of Finance) showed that shrimp exports in August 2021 reached 29.49 thousand tons, worth $280.12 million, down 31.9% in volume and down 28.4% in value compared to August 2020.

In terms of the market, in the first 8 months of 2021, shrimp exports to the US, EU, Australia, and Russia increased sharply compared to the same period in 2020; while exports to markets in Asia are not positive.

Specifically, exports to Japan increased slightly in volume but decreased slightly in value over the same period in 2020; exports to China, Korea and ASEAN decreased.

According to the Import-Export Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Covid-19 epidemic in the southern provinces is gradually being controlled, and Vietnam's shrimp exports will gradually recover from October 2021. This is the time when the import demand of European countries and the United States is at a high level to meet the consumption demand at the end of the year.

Besides, the shrimp industry is also supported by the increasing market price of shrimp. The price of raw shrimp in most major producing countries such as India and Indonesia tends to increase due to the shortage of production materials.
